This photo by Clyde Butcher is one of my all time photos and hangs in the small restaurant I work at in the panhandle of Florida. This picture is of the dead lakes in Wewahitchka-a town with about 1,000 residents. Aside from the obvious beauty of the picture it symbolizes a shift in perspective in my own life. From the time I was very young I always hated my small town and swore one day that I’d live in a big city, but one day I realized that as I matured I slowly grew to love the area that I am from and this picture was a big part of realizing the beauty that is a slow paced lifestyle in a riverside town.
